The festival program continues with a song recital featuring the Singaporean baritone Martin Ng. His performance brings renewed depth and expressive nuance to the fin-de-siècle repertoire. Composers such as Gustav Mahler, in Kindertotenlieder (1904), and Richard Strauss, with his Song Cycle Op. 27, defined the movement's expressive and psychological character.
These aesthetic currents were later absorbed and transformed by Maurice Ravel, whose Don Quichotte à Dulcinée blends French refinement with a distinctly Spanish musical mood.
