The Drums Awards Returns for 2026
We are pleased to announce the return of The Drum Awards 2026, Soundskool’s drum performance competition designed to support students in their musical growth through structured goals and performance opportunities.
Following the success of last year’s edition, this competition continues to provide a platform for students to develop their technique, musicality, and confidence through both preparation and performance.
Objective of the Competition
The Drum Awards aims to:
- Encourage consistent practice and goal-setting among drum students
- Provide a clear performance milestone
- Develop confidence through recorded and live performances
- Recognize student progress across different levels
Competition Structure
The competition will be conducted in two rounds:
1. Video Submission Round
Participants are required to submit a video recording of their performance.
- Prepare one selected solo piece (up to 3 minutes) with a backing track of any genre.
- Introduce themselves and the song title in the beginning of the video
- Record in one continuous take (no cuts or editing involved)
- Ensure clear audio and video quality
- Submit your video through the official form below:

- You may use your teacher's or School Desk's assistance for the video submission
- Selected participants will advance to the Grand Finale
2. Grand Finale (Live Performance)
Finalists will perform live at the selected Soundskool campus.
- Live performance in front of an audience
- Evaluation by appointed judge
- Winners selected by age category
Categories
Participants will be grouped by age:
- 6–9 years old
- 10–13 years old
- 14 years and above
Eligibility
- Open to all Soundskool drum students
- One solo performance per participant
Prizes & Recognition
- Trophies and certificates of achievement for category winners
- Certificates of participation for all finalists
Important Dates
- Video Submission Deadline: 30 April 2026
- Finalists Announcement: 4 May 2026
- Grand Finale: 17 May 2026
Notes for Teachers
Teachers are encouraged to:
- Support students in selecting suitable repertoire
- Guide preparation for both submission and live performance
- Ensure recordings meet the required standard
- Encourage participation as part of student development
The Drum Awards is not only about results but also about growth. It is a chance for students to work towards a goal, challenge themselves, and experience performing with purpose.
